We've been married for 9 months now (see Facebook if you'd like to know the exact number of days), and things are fantastic. :) The honeymoon in Hawaii was AMAZING...
and we're going back this summer. <3 This year's trip will include a visit to Seattle for Cousin Thomas & Jessica's wedding and then off to the Big Island of Hawaii for a week. Unfortunately, we won't be able to spend our actual anniversary in Hawaii, or even Seattle. Instead, we'll be home at the parents'/in-law's houses for Father's Day and Emily Kay's graduation party. (I can't believe she's 18 already!)
Before we can hit the West Coast and beyond there are some things to be done... namely MOVING! We're giving up on finding enough space in the one bedroom apartment and getting a two bedroom. For now the second bedroom will be storage/office space. That is until we find other uses for it. (I have some ideas... <3)
Other perks of the new apartment include an actual laundry/utility room and a second bathroom. As of right now when the maintenance guys come in to check the water heater or AC unit, they have to go in through our bedroom. Not such a good thing for disorganized people! The utility closet is big enough to fit our washer and dryer and a dog bed, if need be. We've both always loved Great Danes and Brian has finally given in to the idea of having a dog. We won't be able to get said puppy until after the Seattle/Hawaii trip, but it is in the works. Great Danes need a place to call their own and since we won't want puppy sleeping on the bed/couch/chairs in the second bedroom, the laundry/utility room will fit the bill.
The hope is to live in this apartment for a year and then find a house. Right now would be the ideal time to buy, but we're not sure where we want to be permanently. The good thing about moving every two to three years.... reduced junk accumulation! :) We have realized that there are things in boxes still from when we moved into this apartment over two years ago. Eeeek. I'm thinking that after being out of college for almost 5 years means that we won't be using those textbooks and papers anymore... just a thought though. :)
Only 2 months until moving day... maybe I should start packing...
